This is a 24x speed CD-ROM drive that is inserted into certain models of older Dell laptops. It is in very good shape. I used it in my Dell Latitude cPt. It also works in the following models, according to Amazon: "Latitude CP, CPi, CPiA, CPiD, CPiR, CPt, CPtC, CPtS, CPtV, CPxH, CPxJ, C600,C610, C640, C800, c810, c840 & Inspiron 2500, 3700, 3800, 4000, 8000, 8100, 8200."
